A few events changed his life and our donor turned into a client.

A gentleman came into the Food Bank with his two children for a hamper. He recounted a story about how he had been a home owner his whole life, with a steady job. He would grow potatoes for the Food Bank’s Plant a Row Grow a Row program in his spare time. A few events changed his life and he found himself homeless with his two children, staying with family when he could. He was eventually able to secure a one bedroom apartment for his family to share.

After some time he got into a 3 bedroom co-op and things began to look up. He expressed his gratitude for the Food Bank helping him, though he felt uneasy about needing it. He spoke about how he hoped to give back again in the future. He gave compliment to the staff and volunteers at the Food Bank, who had treated him with kindness and respect.
