Each year, Edmonton’s Food Bank purchases between $500,000 and $600,000 worth of food. Between food drives, our food supplies will often run low and we use monetary donations to ensure our hampers are nutritionally balanced.
For example, during the late spring and early summer, items such as canned meats, fruits, and vegetables run low and the funds generated by monetary donations are used to purchase these items.
Business leaders Brad Shaw and family announce more than $10 million for Alberta Charities.

This business leader and philanthropist said, “My family and I are honoured to support the good work of our province’s charities”.
Marjorie Bencz, CM, Executive Director of Edmonton’s Food Bank stated “We have been severely challenged by the increased numbers of people and organizations that need food because of the economic challenges faced by Albertans.
